1 Mont Kiara – Express Love for our Country with Colours

This July to September, at 1 Mont Kiara

Selamat Hari Merdeka1 Mont Kiara’s annual carnival is back with a Western twist, with the theme of “Wild West Carnival”. Come and have some good old fashioned Wild West fun over the weekend of 27 to 28 July at the Atrium on Ground Floor, 1 Mont Kiara!

Shoppers are encouraged to dress up in their best cowboy/cowgirl outfits and take part in a series of exciting activities which include station games of Treasure Hunt, Fishing Out, Target Practice and Shooting Game. Once they have completed all the station games, they get to Spin & Win, standing a chance to walk away with cool prizes!

Those with a penchant for sweet things can savour the free cotton candy we are giving out throughout the carnival and the ones with an artistic flair can unleash their painting talents onto Blanko de White Statue. Join in the fun of a Cowboy Line Dance show and workshop during the carnival.

Come August, the independence of our beloved Malaysia will once again be commemorated with the “Colours of Malaysia 2019” Celebration. Taking place on 10 to 11 August, humongous Malaysia Traditional Boardgames will be set up as a tribute to the old days before we became preoccupied with digital gadgets. It’s a fun and nostalgic opportunity to get reacquainted with beloved childhood games such as Hopscotch, Batu Seremban, Congkak and Jenga.

The “Colours of Malaysia” colouring and fashion contests will allow creative juices to flow in interesting ways either through a spectrum of colours on paper or sashaying down the catwalk with Malaysian Traditional costumes, with the colours of Malaysia in mind.

Buskers, Chot & Friends will be on site to entertain with oldies/retro music, jazz numbers, blues/slow rock, reggae, country, P.Ramlee’s songs and traditional folk songs, which include Labamba, Beautiful Sunday, Jambalaya, Widuri, Kenangan Ku, Merdeka Song etc. Mr Mansor Ali, aka Chot and his friends are full-time musicians with 20 years experience in line music industry, came together to form Chot & Friends 2 years ago.

A Merdeka Message Board will be set up for shoppers to express their love and best wishes for Malaysia in celebration of Merdeka Day on 31 August and Malaysia Day on 16 September. Upon completion, the board will take the shape and look of a giant Malaysian flag.

If you missed the all-time favourite LED Lion Dance, fret not! These adorable LED-lit lions will be back in September to enliven the Mid Autumn Festival celebrations at 1 Mont Kiara.
