01 Feb The RuMa Hotel KL
A wonderful RuMa Staycation! by Jamie Bubb-Sacklyn Chartered Financial Planner, Infinity Solutions
As we were playing cards by the pool bar on the evening of our stay, one of the friendly hotel staff told us that the hotel name, RuMa, with a ‘h’ added to the end, means home. We certainly felt like we were at home away from home during our stay.
When first setting foot inside the hotel, you feel a sense of welcoming and warmth. After checking in just after midday (which was an early check-in, upon request) we made our way to the room which was immaculate and so comfy that didn’t want to leave. We were a particular fans of the blackout blinds that can be moved up and down at the touch of a switch.
The afternoon was spent catching some rays by the pool with a delicious (and very affordable!) burger and a beer from Santai, the pool bar. It was a peaceful spot with more excellent service and we returned for some great cocktails later in the evening.
In the evening, we headed to Atas, the aptly named hotel restaurant with exquisite food produced from the resident chef, Tyson Gee. We shared a few of the starters, blue tiger prawn, parfait and hand dived scallops – and all were fantastic. The Wagyu rump steak was divine, as were the accompaniments, red braised mushroom, asparagus and the jasmine rice salad.
An early check-out meant that we didn’t have time for breakfast but if the rest of the food is to go by, we should’ve made time for it! The only hiccup during the stay is that we didn’t prebook the spa and so it was full for the day, so I’d recommend booking in advance for your stay.
Overall, we couldn’t have been happier with our stay at the RuMa. It really leaves you refreshed and wanting to return for more, which we will!
