IREKA CARES KICKING-OFF CHINESE NEW YEAR WITH UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN
KUALA LUMPUR, 10 February 2015: The very foundation of IREKA CARES was laid on the realization of a company that is passionate about its social responsibility to make a difference to the lives of children from the homes we have adopted over the years. For 2015, these are Lighthouse, Rumah Hope and Rumah Kanak-Kanak Angels, all of them in the Klang Valley area.
IREKA CARES volunteers and children spent time together playing badminton, bowling and swimming at the Bukit Kiara Club, Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, 7 February. Since October 2014, these monthly activities have brought the volunteers closer to the children and both are enriched by the experience. Miss Santha, carer from Rumah Hope says that her children always look forward to the first Saturday of every month and indeed, the squeals of laughter is testament to how much fun they are having.
Datuk Lai, Chairman of Ireka’s CSR programme says, “IREKA CARES is a way of showing appreciation and giving back to a society from which we have gained so much. We have been consistent in the past 5 years in our support of various children homes and we have Ireka’s volunteers to thank for spreading happiness and smiles on the faces of the children so readily.”
